As women who value education and believe in pouring back into the community, ELIXIR established this scholarship fund to empower a current Black female student at Purdue University to continue her pursuit for higher education.
The E9 Scholar Program will award one winner per year with a $1,000 scholarship dispersed at the beginning of the fall semester. We understand the difficulties in balancing acedemic excellence while meeting financial responsibilities and hope that this scholarship can ease some of that burden.
Each E9 Scholar will have the opportunity for mentorship from a member on ELIXIR with whom they share professional and/or personal interests. Mentorship will include regular touch-base meetings, resume reviews, interview practice, coaching, and advocacy. Through the program, E9 Scholars will have the opportunity to network with other winners as well as colleagues within ELIXIR's current network. Scholars will only be eligible to win once, however the mentor and network relationships built may continue beyond the award year.
Our ultimate goals are to promote Black Excellence and give back to the community that helped us blossom into the women we are today.
